I was a Manager in the 70's at the Concord Calif. store and I am glad to see that the original is still there, Hopefully someday they will expand again and we can reminisce all over again and have greaaaaaaat food again...

A Childhood Still Lives On
Reviewer: Pam Harrell from Loudon Tenn.
We used to live in Santa Maria when I was a child and have a Sambos Restaurant. I was cleaning up and ran across this box that has a Sambos Tiger on it. I then came across Sambo's picture story cards with 8 different post cards. Cost was 35 cents. Then I found an old menu. Dinners: Filet Mignon-U.S. Choice $2.65, six Sambo cakes 50 cents, Deluxe Sambo Burger With French Fries 75 cents. We were out there last December and I wish I had known there was a Sambo's Restaurant in Santa Barbara. We would have stopped in a heart beat. I am so happy to see that there is still a Sambos around. My childhood still live on! Sambos was a very good place to eat at. I am looking forward to stopping by so I can eat there again. I want to share the same fun and joy with my daughter & granddaughter that I used to share with my mother. Thank You.

AAAAAAAAAAAH. The childhood memories.......,

We used to go to Sambos every Sunday after church. Us kids were always enthralled by the little boy being chased by the tiger. The pancakes were and are the best in town...

I loved it here!

I was allowed to take photos inside and outside of the restaurant (hence research project). Great Food (especially the pancakes). Great Service. Waiters and Waitresses were all quite friendly and cheerful. They are not open for dinner however. It is still a great restaurant despite this small fact.

Good food, good view
Reviewer: karen from Goleta
What a great laid-back place to go for Saturday morning breakfast! We ate our huevos rancheros (loved the crispy tortillas!) and mini-muffins outside with a view of the beach. This was my first visit but I could tell that it was a favorite eatery for the 15 minute wait we had. Can't wait to come back and try out some of the special french toast dishes.

Location is just great -- the food is the best around , the service was friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful-the prices are so reasonable and you get so much --we were on vacation from Cleveland, Oh and we stop here on every visit to Santa Barbara and were glad we do --- only wish they were open longer and into the evening---

Sambos experience
Reviewer: Joe and Lorraine Evans Santa Maria, CA
Today we stopped for a nostalgic experience. We had dined at this Sambos in 1965 and then moved to Santa Maria CA. The years went by and we ate at the State Street location several times. Well today we were visiting in Santa Barbara and we drove by Sambos and my wife and sister-in-law said we should stop for lunch. Boy am I glad we did. The food was excellent and a young man (our server) named Alex was delightful as well as accommodating. The price was fair and we left with food for later. Thank you Sambos and thank you Alex.

Fresh and well presented breakfast!!!

I have to say I have been to many breakfast spots in SB, and by far Sambos is the best. My husband agrees. The service was great and our server was truly attentive. The food was mouth watering and tasted so fresh. The fresh squeezed orange is a definite must with breakfast. Great place for breakfast and highly recommended!!!!!! Thanks, Sambos.
